by Shuffling Suitcases on November 09, 2020
Sustainability is like a house and just like a house is made of many bricks, sustainability is composed of many small building blocks. Here are the few R's of sustainability that you should know about.

1. Recycle

The process of recovering scrap or waste and reprocessing the material into useful products.

Quick tip: Use brewed tea leaves as a medium for growing plants.

2. Reuse

The practice of using an item, whether for its original purpose (conventional reuse) or to fulfil another function.

Quick Tip: Use the plastic cold drink bottles to grow herbs.

3. Reduce

Reduce usage of things as much as you can!

Quick Tip: Don’t buy that dress, you don’t need it!

4. Repurpose

The process by which an object with one use value is transformed or redeployed as an object with alternative use value.

Quick Tip: Repurpose the used toilet paper roll as a pen stand.

5. Repair

We all know what repair means. But it’s time to put the word to use!

Value things.

Don’t just throw them away because of a minor fault.

Quick Tip: Repair everything!

6. Rot

Use things that are biodegradable.

Once you are done using them, let them die a natural death in nature.

Quick Tip: Compost it!
